Another piece inspired by a song – Disco Snails by Vulfmon & Zachary Barker – a rather silly song.  But in reality these amazing little creatures are truly captivating.  Yes, they leave silver trails, and yes, they may eat your kale and other garden produce, and yet I am mesmerized by their slow and careful ways of moving in the world.  This piece was my first true experiment with using beads as a medium to create dimension.  The snail was created separately from the background, and I impressed myself with my ability to create a snail shell that actually looks 3-D.
