Trees, Trees, Trees!

“In the Glade!” – Ness Creek, 21” x 21”Acrylic and wood burning on Birch Panel

I think that I shall never see

A poem as lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest

Against the sweet earth’s flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,

And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear

A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;

Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,

But only God can make a tree.

– Joyce Kilmer

DID YOU KNOW THAT TREES HAVE A HEARTBEAT. IT BEATS VERY SLOWLY, ONLY ONCE EVERY 2 HOURS, BUT SCIENTISTS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LISTEN TO IT AND RECORD ITS AMAZING SOUND.

I am just the littlest bit obsessed with trees. Okay, I am a lot obsessed with trees. I love the way the trunks and branches form a network in front of the blue sky. I adore the way the light peers through the leaves, causes the branches to glow and creates these amazing lacy patterns on the ground around them. I am continually fascinated by the myriad of connections there are with trees and everything else. Come and enjoy a few of the trees that I am celebrating in my work. Maybe there is one here for you to call your own.

DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS ONLY A SMALL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OUR BLOOD AND THE “BLOOD” OR SAP IN TREES? IT IS WHY OUR BLOOD IS RED AND THAT OF TREES IS GREEN.

Trees, trees, trees. Just can’t get enough. You are lucky. These pieces are so new they aren’t even framed or on my website yet. But I wanted to share them with you. If you are interested in any of these, please email me and I would be happy to help you out.

DID YOU KNOW THAT TREES LIVE IN COMMUNITY? THEY TALK TO EACH OTHER, SHARE RESOURCES AND EVEN WARN AND HELP EACH OTHER IN TIMES OF TROUBLE.
