Pigment to Pixel: In Living Colour – A Colour Workshop

Join us for a journey into the world of colour with Pigment to Pixel: In Living Colour. This hands-on workshop, led by artist and educator Valerie Wiebe of Wiebe Works, and inventor Chris Kotelmach of Colors + Cubes, will take you through the science, history, and artistry of colour—from the pigments of paint to the pixels on your screen.
Learn the stories behind colour names, break down colour terminology, and uncover the secrets of colour mixing and harmony. See firsthand how light changes the way we perceive colour, why screens and printers use different colour models, and how to create consistency from paint to digital design. Through guided demonstrations and interactive exercises, you’ll gain practical tools for mastering colour in both traditional and digital mediums—whether you’re an artist, designer, photographer, or just curious about colour.
Lunch is not included in the ticket price. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch (there is a microwave on site), or they can use the Midtown Plaza food court amenities.
