I love how the clouds pile up during a thunderstorm. When the sun shines on them, they look like mounds of hydrangeas in all their purple and pink splendor.

This painting began as a study, an experiment of applying washes of blue, white and purple over a ground of a rainbow of colors. The affect reminded me of hydrangeas and stormy clouds. I am fascinated by how patterns are repeated over and over in nature. It reminds me that everything is truly connected.
