24” x 36”/Acrylic, Beading on Birch Panel

In the garden outside our accomodations in Kampala, Uganda, was this amazing plant, Torch Ginger, with these large waxy blooms in beautiful beautiful shades of pink and magenta, like precious jewels embedded into green settings of lush foilage that Mother Nature bedecks herself with. The beading pattern used is known as the Bargello pattern, which literally translates to “flame.” This seemed a fitting pattern for an image of flowers that resemble large flaming torches fit for a goddess.
